Minor Arcana · Wands · Element: Fire
Keywords: vision, leadership, enterprise, mature boldness, influence
The advice
Step to the front and bring people with you — a vision is worth only as much as those who follow it.
A king in an orange cloak sits on a throne with salamanders and lions, the wand firm in his hand, body slightly turned like someone ready to stand. He leads wanting to go along.
King of Wands upright
Mature leadership: long-term vision, the courage to undertake, and the ability to make others believe. The King of Wands is not the most organized in the deck, but he is the one who can lift a big idea off the paper and sustain the enthusiasm along the way.
In love
Someone decisive and generous, who acknowledges the relationship publicly. Commitment that comes with direction, not just feeling.
In work and money
Starting a venture, leading a team, defending a bold project before those who decide. Your experience is the asset.
In your inner life
Feeling like the owner of your own path. That rare mix of confidence and responsibility.
The shadow
Having the vision and forgetting the people. Leadership that doesn't listen ends up walking alone and calling it the loneliness of the top.
King of Wands reversed
Leadership is out of tune. Orders given by shouting, impatience with those who can't keep up, or big promises with no structure behind them. The reversed King also appears as an arrogant presence taking up too much space in your story.
In love
A relationship with an imbalance of power, someone domineering, or your own difficulty in sharing decisions.
In work and money
An authoritarian boss, an ambitious plan with no execution, decisions made without consulting those who carry them out.
In your inner life
A feeling of carrying everyone. Perhaps you took on a role nobody asked for.
The shadow
Mistaking intensity for authority. Whoever has to raise their voice has already lost the argument.
